After Chicago’s show we bolted out of the city to make the 3 hour drive down here to Fort Wayne, IN as soon as we could. We had a day off and we all had plans to get tattoos done at our favorite/only tattoo shop, Grade A Tattoos. We came here last tour on the recommendation of our boys in Evan’s Blue. It’s where I got my Clandestine Industries/Fall Out Boy tattoo. We were in the shop yesterday from around noon till 4:30 this morning. And I went back this afternoon to get my piece(s) done. Check out our shizzz. Nixon went first. He had been talking with our artist Och online about his ideas. So Och was ready to start when we got there. Nixon wanted something to do with dreams and being on tour/playing shows/singing. So after throwing a bunch of ideas around, we took a picture of Nixon’s eye, photoshopped a picture of the microphone he uses on stage into the iris and threw it onto his arm: CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO SEE A LARGER VERSION!
And this is how it ended up:
It’s scary real. The detail is amazing. And I must say, I take a kickass photograph. |

Take a good look at the buildings around the DeKalb County Fairgrounds in Auburn.
They might not all be standing when the fair’s first big-time rock concert ends, two months from now on the night of Sept. 28.
Well known for its country concerts, the fair is partnering for the first time with FM radio station 98.9 The Bear as a concert sponsor. The station chose rising rock stars EGYPT CENTRAL to headline the first show.
"The reason we did the fair is it’s the first time we could play for all ages," said Mark O’Toole, the band’s manager. The band usually plays in places off limits to people under 21.
"It’s cool to be able to come and play at the fair and give the kids here a cool show," said JOHN FALLS, the group’s lead singer. |

Friday April 13th was a very lucky day for everyone in Fort Wayne, who was lucky enough to acquire free tickets, for the 98.9 The Bear, customer appreciation show at Piere's where they were blown away by a concert with Slagg, and headlining Egypt Central. The day started off with a meet and greet at Grade A Tattoos, in the Market Place of Canterbury. It was hard to get a count, but the lobby was full for the two hours that John, Heath, Joey, Jeff, and Blake, were meeting, and signing CD's, pictures, and anything you wanted signed. The group has a lot of younger fans that can not get in Piere's to hear the band live, so that gave them a chance to meet this warm, caring, wonderful group of guys called Egypt Central.
Grade A Tattoos has developed a friendship that started last year when we wanted a band to judge an ugly tattoo contest. We had seen them earlier in the year when they opened for Candlebox, at Piere's, and their band stole the show. So we asked this young, energetic, very talented band to judge our tattoo contest, while they were in the Fort opening for Dropping Daylight, and Crossfade. We again got to their opening act, and once again they stole the show. John Falls has an awesome voice; Joey is an outstanding bass player, and never stops moving on stage. The strikingly handsome Heath is truly a remarkable guitarist, Jeff's talent is amazing on the guitar, and Blake, is unstoppable talented drummer, holding everything together.

On April 4TH the band Mushroomhead returned to the Fort and returned to Grade A Tattoos, for some ink. When they are in town, we are really happy to see their tour bus, pull in into Piere's parking lot, because we get to visit and catch up, on everything. WE also get to meet the new Bands that are with them.
Jeffery Nothing was the first in the door, wanting a rather large tattoo on his stomach, and spent most of the day, while Och worked on him. It is still hard to believe that he has this tattoo done one hour before he had to get into his costume and perform on that hot stage. I bet it was just a little ouchey!!! Coming into see us this year was Psyclon Nine, and Human Abstract. |

We are proud to announce our new artist at Grade A Tattoos and Body Piercings. Antonio Ochoa has joined the staff of tattoo artists. Och formally from Studio 13, and Artisty in Ink, has been with us for several months. Och's work can be seen in our gallery , and also on his myspace link on our home page. Och's portraits are amazing, and when you see his other work , the word "WOW" certainly comes to mind. Every day he works here, he continues to impress us with the creative abilities, that he possess, and it is evident in the tattoos he puts out. We do have flash on our walls for general ideas, but each artist here at Grade A, will work with each client to make that dream tattoo a reality for our customers. If you dream it, we can tat it. |
